The Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau – with support from the City of Paris and the French government – is placing the spotlight on cabarets as part of a plan to give renewed impetus to tourism and fresh sparkle to the French capital and its tourism sector players. The first edition of the ‘Paris: the cabaret capital’ event will kick off this year, lasting from 24 to 30 October 2016.
Fourteen establishments have joined forces for this special week-long focus on Paris cabarets. The event is an opportunity to roll out a major communication campaign around Paris, promoting the destination as the world’s capital of entertainment and glamour. During ‘Cabaret Week’, participating Paris cabarets will put on a host of special events and offers to introduce – or re-introduce – both Parisians and visitors to the delightful experience of a cabaret show.
The programme revolves around a fun quiz-and-contest titled ‘Which Paris cabaret are you?’
Paris lovers entering the contest can find out all about the city’s eclectic cabaret scene and currently running shows, and 4 lucky entrants will win a fabulous trip for 2 including return tickets to Paris in partnership with Voyages-SNCF, a night in a luxury hotel and an upscale evening in one of the 4 most famous Paris cabarets (the Lido, the Paradis Latin, the Moulin Rouge and the Crazy Horse). (Quiz online from 24 October to 10 November)
‘Cabaret shows are a quintessential part of Paris, to be experienced at least once in your life. This week will remind both Ile-de-France residents and French and international visitors of the sheer range of cabaret shows in Paris, and confirm that Paris truly is the capital of entertainment,’ says Jean-François Martins, deputy mayor in charge of sport and tourism.
